Jackson Hole has a way of making you feel small in the best possible way. Surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Tetons and bordered by two of America's most iconic national parks, this Wyoming valley is the kind of place that demands you put your phone down and just look. Here's how to make the most of 48 hours here.
Day 1:
Check in at Snow King Resort
Start the weekend at Snow King Resort, sitting right at the edge of downtown Jackson — close enough to walk to dinner, but with a mountain looming directly behind it that sets the tone immediately. The resort has a cozy, timber-and-stone mountain lodge energy without feeling stuffy, and the location makes it an ideal base for exploring both the town and the parks beyond.

Morning Hike: Jenny Lake & String Lake, Grand Teton National Park
No trip to Jackson Hole is complete without time in Grand Teton National Park, and the Jenny Lake and String Lake Loop is one of the most rewarding ways to spend a morning there. The trail winds through lodgepole pine forest with the Teton Range rising dramatically on one side and the shimmering blue of the lakes on the other. String Lake is especially serene — calm and glassy, a perfect spot to pause and take it all in.
Keep an eye out for moose grazing near the shoreline — sightings are common and never get old. Wear layers, as temperatures drop noticeably in the shade of the trees, and plan for at least 3–4 hours to really soak it in.

Evening: Wine & Appetizers at Bin22
After a long hike, Bin22 is the move. Tucked into the heart of Jackson, this wine and charcuterie spot has an impressive bottle selection you can enjoy on-site or take home — a genius combination. Settle in with a glass from the Pacific Northwest and a board loaded with cured meats, cheeses, and local accompaniments. The atmosphere is warm and unhurried, exactly right for a post-hike golden hour.

Dinner: Teton Tiger
For dinner, head to Teton Tiger, Jackson's beloved Southeast Asian-inspired restaurant that somehow feels both unexpected and completely at home in a mountain town. The menu is bold and bright — think Vietnamese-leaning dishes with serious depth of flavor. The cocktails are worth lingering over, and the energy in the room hits that perfect note between lively and relaxed. It's the kind of meal that makes you want to plan a return trip before you've even finished dessert.

Day 2:
Morning: Coffee & Pastries at Persephone Bakery
There is really only one way to start a morning in Jackson: Persephone Bakery. This beloved local institution is worth waking up early for — the pastry case is a work of art, the coffee is excellent, and the whole place has a warm, bread-scented atmosphere that makes it hard to leave. Whatever croissant is on offer that morning, get it. Go early; the line moves fast but it does form.

Road Trip: Grand Teton National Park to Yellowstone
With coffee in hand and pastries packed for the road, Day 2 is built for one of the most spectacular drives in the American West. The route north through Grand Teton National Park toward Yellowstone is a genuine highlight reel: sweeping valley views, the Snake River curving through the flats, bison wandering along the road like they own it (they do), and the Tetons shifting and receding in the rearview mirror.
Once you cross into Yellowstone, the landscape transforms dramatically — hydrothermal steam rising from the ground, prismatic hot springs glowing in impossible colors, geysers erupting on their own schedule. Even if you've seen photos a hundred times, nothing quite prepares you for how alive Yellowstone feels. Budget at least a few hours here; it's impossible to rush.

Wind Down: Snake River Brewing
After a day of mountain hiking and volcanic wonders, there's no better way to close out the trip than at Snake River Brewing — Jackson's iconic craft brewery and longtime local favorite. The pub-style space is exactly what you want after a full day outdoors: big wooden tables, cold beer, and a menu of hearty food that hits the spot. The house-brewed lagers and ales have won national recognition for good reason. Order a flight, find a favorite, and raise a glass to 48 hours very well spent.

Jackson Hole is one of those rare places that delivers on every level — the outdoor adventures are world-class, the food and drink scene punches well above what you'd expect for a small mountain town, and the sheer beauty of the landscape has a way of resetting something in you. Two days is just enough to fall in love with it. Just enough to start planning when you're coming back.
